Sea Trail - Maples
The Dan Maples Course at Sea Trail opened in 1986 and is a par-72, with blended A1/A4 bent grass greens which are especially favored by visitors from more northern climates. It measures a middle-of-the-road 6,797 yards from the back Blue set of tees, with a Rating of 71.5 and a Slope rating of 134. This puts it solidly in the middle of the pack in terms of difficulty among its dozens of neighboring golf courses in the Myrtle Beach area. This means that it is particularly playable for golfers of all handicaps and experience levels.
One of the main features of the Maples Course at Sea Trail is that five of its holes wind along the scenic Calabash Creek, exposing the player to gentle coastal breezes and much of the native wildlife of the area. It features a compact layout to the effect that NC Magazine recognized the Maples Course as one of the best courses to walk in North Carolina in 2005.
Sea Trail Golf Resort & Conference Center complements its three golf courses with a spacious practice area that includes a grass-tee driving range and putting green, as well as a chipping green with a practice bunker.
