Sea Trail - Byrd
The Willard Byrd Course at Sea Trail opened in 1990 and measures 6,750 yards from its back Blue tee set. It sports a Rating of 72.7 and a Slope of 130, making it quite manageable for all golfers from all four of its sets of tee markers. Its greens are Champion Bermuda grass, which thrives especially in the North Carolina summer heat. The course features a number of manmade and naturalized freshwater lakes that range in size from 14 to 20 acres, affecting strategy on a number of holes. One of these holes is the 174-yard par three second hole, where the tee shot must clear a pond and avoid four greenside bunkers in order to leave the player with a birdie putt on the skinny, angled putting surface.
Sea Trail Golf Resort & Conference Center complements its three golf courses with a spacious practice area that includes a grass-tee driving range and putting green, as well as a chipping green with a practice bunker.
